Thing of the Week: ChildStyle on HGTV.com

The first five episodes of ChildStyle, the series I'm doing with HGTV.com went live this morning and I'm really excited to share them with you. First up? Boheme and Reverie's (former) nursery, which many of you have seen before but not quite like this. (We shot this episode many moons ago and seeing Bo and Revi so teeny tiny is blowing my mind. Not to mention our old house which isn't all that old. Sunriiiiiiise, sunset.)

Here's another video I wanted to share here (one of my favorites) because it's inspiring the shared room I'm (currently) designing for Archer and Fable. Lots of whimsical personal touches and I love the patterns, bunk bed, adorable little boys running amok. Behold:

We'll be rolling out the next ten episodes (which includes one of the coolest outdoor spaces you've ever seen ever ever) over the next few months so stay tuned! In the meantime, hope you enjoy our first five! And thank you so much for watching!

In the US on an iPod touch...no video here either.

Brooke - Little Miss Moi | 3:29 PM

Oh how exciting! I'm still in moving limbo - in temporary accommodation for the next few weeks until we get our act together and book tickets to our new home town. BUT I KNEW there was a reason I went and bought some more mobile broadband yesterday - can't wait to have a squizzy when the kids are napping later. Congrats!

Can't watch them in Canada. Getting the same error some people mentioned...odd. Are they supposed to be US only?

Can't see them here - Australia. I really hop this can be fixed, I have been looking forward to these for months :(

Amber | 5:58 PM

Oh my Goodness! Your video turned out so well! I could totally see you with a decorating show on HGTV...you can come makeover my eclectic space and make it look as cohesive and pulled together as yours!

Alt-Mama | 6:46 PM

LOVE these. Great work! You're a total pro, and the production/concept/post-production work is all spot on. Cool movement with filligree to point out interesting elements of each room. Great narration, very candid-esque (yet organized. Damn! Good stuff! I must, must get that wall-mounted fish bowl for my little dude.

Bravo!

Sarah @toddlersummer | 7:52 PM

Great videos! Can't wait to see what you come up with for Archer and Fable since I'll be moving my boy and girl in together when (if?) the toddler ever learns to sleep through the night!

Kristin | 11:27 PM

No viewing ability in Japan either. :(

GIRL'S GONE CHILD | 11:36 PM

Okay. SO. I just heard back from HGTV and unfortunately the videos are only available in the US but HGTV friends are working on figuring something out so I'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, I'm SO sorry. I had no idea this would be the case and am really disappointed. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch. Stay tuned and thank you so much for the support!

As for those on cell phones or IPADs, that makes sense because they aren't flash compatible. Sorry about all of this, you guys!

Anne-Marie | 4:55 AM

Ah none viewable in Ireland either, hopefully HGTV will find a solution, would love to see your rooms!

Martha | 5:06 AM

I use an IP blocker to watch HGTV videos in Canada, if you are interested in that I use the software program Hotspot Shield. I don't know much about the implications of that but I thought I'd mention it so don't yell at me if something goes wrong! :) I started doing it when I was following Erin Loechner's home renovations on HGTV as well. It is so annoying that HGTV does that, I've mentioned it several times in the HGTV comments.

Aliesha | 6:27 AM

Not only do I LOVE every single room, I love watching you talk about them - so fabulous, and the design is so inspiring!

emily | 9:28 AM

speaking of kids' rooms, have you seen this twin print? http://www.etsy.com/listing/61053756/identical-twins-print

delightful.

These videos are just great. I'm expecting my first on NYE and I have been a bit obssessed with nursery ideas, fabrics, prints, etc. The line "don't get trapped by a theme" is just perfect. I was having a hard time expressing to my Mom how I didn't want a theme and I was able to share the video with her so that she gets it. I don't want a nursery in a bag from pottery barn kids. I want the nursery to be a place that is welcoming to the entire family, unique, our own special place where we can make memories and enjoy our time together. I also sent an inquiry to "where the streets have your name" as I think they are just adorable. Thanks again for sharing!

Anonymous | 10:05 AM

(from Germany again): Well, then I'll just look at the pictures for now, those are fab too! :)

Suzanne | 10:38 AM

Its official, I am totally obsessed with Child Style. You did such a great job! I am so ready to see this series on television. Can't wait for more!

Thomasin | 1:49 PM

Ack, you're famous! Awesome. I love your girls' old room and that sweet gender-neutral baby room. Totally awesome. Looking forward to more videos!

Lizzie | 2:01 PM

Sara K is my student! Worlds collide!

Rachael | 8:23 PM

I am so happy for you about this, how wonderful. Also I feel kind of proud. Wait, is that weird? Hm...

Unknown | 2:16 PM

Thanks for the shoot! Loved the episode of Bryan's nursery and meeting you.

Brooke - Little Miss Moi | 8:31 PM

SO weird... I couldn't watch the video BUT it DID show me an American ad for heartburn medicine! Well nice to know that advertising knows no IP bounds.

Hopefully you will be able to show us outside the US soon, I'm really looking forward to it!

Kristen Daniels | 7:20 AM

Love all the instagram pics. Don't you just love the instant readiness? Modern day polaroid I guess. =)

I'm really enjoying all the decorating updates. Moving into my house and setting up shop was so much fun. It's such an exciting time when you get to re-define your abode and the elements that come together to surprise you are such a bonus!
