Chapter Two: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Teensyness

This month's video is only two days late, which means that maybe I'm starting to get the hang of this whole two-kids thing.

Without further ado... Fable's Chapter Two:

She is, utterly, heartbreakingly teensy, and gorgeous.

It made me think about how easy happy babies are to love, and to like - all mothers have moments when they love their child but don't like them at that particular moment. It makes me wonder about my own mother, knowing I was a difficult baby and young child, and my brother was so easy - at that age, happiness and unhappiness are pretty much all you can express - no points for intelligence or insight or wittiness or any of the things that make up the amazingly complex personalities of older children and adults. Just musing, spurred by Fable's incredible loveableness even across the internet ether.

Barry and Amy | 11:16 AM

Absolutely, amazingly beautiful!

Jo | 12:13 PM

She could not be any more perfect. I think if you tried making her this perfect in your head when you were pregnant. it wouldn't have even compared.

S.A. | 12:37 PM

Oh my land. She is STAGGERINGLY adorable, and beautiful. She seems so calm and wise, it is hard to believe she is so young. She looks shockingly like her brother at times.

Anonymous | 12:56 PM

i am the parent to an amazingly cute child but HOLY CRAP she is adorable, beautiful and her eyes seem to show a wiseness beyond her two months...

thank you for sharing that with us.

Wicked Step Mom | 1:02 PM

She is such a beautiful girl... Thanks for sharing. I needed this today.

Anonymous | 1:04 PM

Heather B. | 6:09 PM

Well the subject of your video is a lot better looking than the subject of the video I just did...So...I'm going to go cry now and wish that I could look like Fable. 2 months was my best age. Just sayin'.

pamela | 6:33 PM

grapefruit in my throat. i think i love her... and you for making her.

Anonymous | 6:43 PM

her eyes look exactly like archer's in one of the shots near the beginning. also, I am going to come to your house and bite her cheeks off. gently, of course.

Anonymous | 6:54 PM

So adorable! Fable is beautiful. Archer has grown up so much since she has been born, he look's so much more mature now. Like he just grew up overnight. Your family is stunning! I would love to see you 4 get professional pictures done!
Sarah Isabella

BTW my word verification was: forsistr

It's weird how she looks exactly like...BOTH of you! She's the perfect combination of you and Hal.

Rachael | 8:38 PM

Good Lord woman, I absolutely cannot get through your Fable montages without tears. She is just adorable. And her and Archer together, with their huge brown eyes and siblingness? It's like someone ripped my heart out and cuddled it to death. Cutely.

Amanda | 9:53 PM

I love her name beyond measure. She is so present. Her brother is in beeeg trouble. Oh the fun!

Hats off to mom and dad!

I actually had to catch my breath for a moment before even commenting. My heart actually, physically aches from the love captured in those moments now suspended in time, experienced by all of us all over the place, to be replayed for others in so many years to come. Does your heart ever just burst from fullness? (Is fullness really a word? It looks odd.)

Thank you for sharing your beautiful Fable (and Your beautiful fable) with us.

The Ripley's | 5:37 AM

So beautiful!

My Bottle's Up! | 6:22 AM

oh wow... such amazing and intricate pieces of her that make her your's! she's a beauty.

Marisa | 8:38 AM

Wow, it's really making me look forward to meeting my little boy in Feb :) I'm ready to give birth already, damn it.

P.S. I'm reading your book and LOVE it! :) | 9:31 AM

Hey Rebecca,
I saw you on Momversation saying something about crotchless panties and pasties. Ahhh. You're adorable and so is your daughter.

Amanda | 10:20 AM

I started the morning off in tears and now I'm entering lunch with tears. Only this time they're of the happy variety.

She truly is a happiness prodigy!

Oh, and have I mentioned we need to exchange mixes? Jeebuz its nice to find someone with the same music tastes!

I watched it as follows- "Oh my god she's so adorable! Gah this song is amazing! Oh she really does blink insanely cute! I really need to download this song! Oi vey those eyes! Oi vey this song! Cute! Sweet! Amazing! Adorable!"

And then my head caved in because the loveliness was just too much for one to handle before her coffee.

sweetmelissa818 | 2:12 PM

That was the sweetest thing I've ever seen!

Overflowing Brain | 9:18 PM

Oh Holy Jesus my uterus just skipped a beat. No really, I'm pretty sure my biological clock just got switched on by that video.

I feel like I need to go find some really cranky kids to even things out.

(And also, my word verification is "dingsome" I feel a little insulted)

Dawn | 6:54 AM

So she's gorg.

But if you've got the 2 kids thing figured out already than I'm way behind - mine are 2 and 4.

Anonymous | 3:51 PM

Fable makes me smile.

Anonymous | 5:22 PM

Your children and beautiful.

(I found you via Momversation, on Dooce.)

Mindy | 8:40 AM

My uterus hurts. Waaaaaaah. Can you post a scratch and sniff of her head? Because if I get anywhere near her I'll steal her.

Archer is priceless.
